Lash and Brow Services

With the emerging popularity of eyelash extensions and increased Technicians performing them, it is important to choose the right one.  What puts Picasso Artistic Salon at the top of the list?  While most Technicians simply attend one day of training, all of our Technicians received 12 weeks of in-house training.  They applied lashes on mannequins and slowly graduated to friends and family until they were fully ready for Clients.  They have been expertly trained in the art of lashes as well as the importance of safety and sanitation.  Our hands and tools are sterilized between every client, no exceptions.  We also practice safe application.  This means we protect the integrity of your natural lashes by choosing the appropriate weights and lengths.  While you may want a heavier look, your lashes may not be able to support the weight.  We prefer to push the boundaries of beauty carefully.   Lastly, we continuously research and add new products to our inventory!  We love trying new lashes and our Clients love changing their look!  Currently, we use Silk and Mink lashes to ensure a soft natural feel.

With four Lash Technicians available, we strive to offer flexible hours including evenings and weekends.  Each appointment starts with a consultation, ensuring every client leaves with a unique look based on their eye shape, brows and makeup preferences.  Our newest addition to the lash menu is the Volume Lash Set!  This exciting new technique uses the lightest lashes available, allowing our Technicians to apply 2-3 lashes per natural lash.   This technique is only applied on medium and coarse textured lashes that are strong enough to support the weight.   While there is no need for mascara, a water-based mascara is fine to use and we recommend fills every 2-3 weeks.

WARNING

Many clients who have experienced bad eyelash applications have come to our salon complaining of heaviness, persistent stinging or pulling, and in the worst cases, thinking they have an infection. The pain comes from the natural lashes being glued and matted together instead of properly isolated and applied one lash extension to one natural eyelash. While their previous lash technician swore they were applying them “one-to-one” or “individually” that was simply not the case.  Under close examination the lashes are clumped, matted and the client has been left with broken lashes. This is due to the Technician’s lack of skill, training and patience.
It is without exception that we find multiple sections where one lash extension is attached to 2, 3 and even 4 natural lashes.  This causes itching, pain, redness and swelling. Instead of each lash shedding individually, clumps of lashes shed together leaving bald sections. The pain and discomfort has led many clients to pulling out their own lashes just to get some relief!  Be sure to ask your lash technician lots of questions:

Are they certified? Where did they receive their training?

What products do they use? Does their adhesive contain formaldehyde?

How do they sterilize their tools?

Ask to see the lashes they use and ask what the weights are.  A well trained technician should have at least 4 different weights of lash extensions to accommodate a variety of clients.

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned in this article then we encourage you to find a new technician.  In some cases that will mean spending more money but it is worth it.
